Plan Ahead & Prepare

A common misconception

Despite the name, Tall Trees Grove does not have the current tallest tree in the world. Hikers must be prepared for a moderately strenuous hike. You must complete the entire hike to experience Tall Trees Grove and there are no old-growth redwoods along the access road. There are many other trails in the redwoods parks with comparable trees that are easier to access and physically easier to hike. Nearby examples include the Trillium Falls TrailRevelation Trail, and Karl Knapp Trail to Foothill Trail Loop.

Fees

There are no fees associated with Tall Trees Grove.

Trail

Tall Trees is in a very remote area of the park. There is no cell phone reception.

Accommodations

Accessing Tall Trees Trailhead (60+ minute drive)
