On July 5, something incredible happened on the shores of Crescent City.
More than 100 volunteers joined forces for our annual 5th of July Beach Clean-Up—and the results were nothing short of inspiring. Together, we removed over 2,300 pounds of trash from the coastline in just one day! That’s more than one ton of debris no longer polluting our beaches, harming wildlife, or washing out to sea. And that total doesn’t even include the recyclables that many of you took the time to sort out and dispose of responsibly. ♻️
This powerful show of community care wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing partners: Smith River Alliance, California State Parks, Caltrans District 1, and Del Norte Solid Waste Authority. A special shoutout to the 30+ volunteers from Smith River Alliance who came out in force!
Every piece of trash picked up was a step toward protecting our stunning redwood coast—and a reminder of what’s possible when we come together in stewardship. We’re beyond grateful for each and every one of you who made this clean-up a success.
Let’s keep this energy going. Our public lands are healthier because of your efforts—and we can’t wait to see what we accomplish next, together. 🌊💚
